This private high school was founded prior to the Civil War and is recognized as one of the oldest continually operating high schools in Maine. The school is an independent co-educational boarding school that is located in Lee, Maine. The school is a fully accredited institution that specializes in challenging young people with rigorous academics but also focuses on the individual. This private high school enrolls approximately 220 students each year, with approximately 20 of those being from other countries other than the United States.

The private high school is located in a small rural community in upstate Maine. The school prides itself on the location because it offers a wealth of opportunities. Lee is situated in the largest contiguous forest in the continental United States. This location experiences all four weather seasons but winters are cold. The school is also just one hour from the Canadian border and is approximately 5 hours from Boston. Lee is also just one hour away from the University of Maine.
