An ice-skating rink and 9-hole golf course can be found at West Hartford's center. In addition, West Hartford is only about 2 hours and 15 minutes from New York City, New York and just 2 hours from Boston, Massachusetts. West Hartford is known to be warm and humid in the summers with temperatures averaging 85 F in July; winters are cooler with temperatures averaging 20 F in December and January.

Students at the private Connecticut school are required to wear uniforms. Boys' uniform policy is following: suit jackets must be worn with tie and dress shirt. Dress shirts must be white, light-colored, and plain; acceptable colors are light blue, light green, light gray, light pink, and light yellow. Shirts must be solid or pinstriped; no checkered or plaid shirts are permitted. Boys must wear pleated or non-pleated dress pants with no outside seam, patch pockets, or cargo pockets. Girls' uniform policy is following. Three (3) shirt options are available: short/long sleeved button down collar oxford cloth blouse in pastel, white, or pinstripe; school sweater; sweater vest or navy blue blazer. Girls' blouses must be loose fitting and long enough to be tucked into the skirt waistband, and remain tucked in. Solid white or pastel turtlenecks may be worn under the regulation blouse. Skirts must be knee length, modest, and appropriately sized. Excessive makeup, jewelry, improper hairstyles, nose rings, or any form of jewelry in the form of body piercing, other than the ears, are strictly prohibited.

Students attending this private Connecticut school will be placed with carefully selected host families in and around the West Hartford area. A local contact person will be appointed to oversee each student and host family for the duration of the student's stay in the United States.
