This high school is an independent, co-educational, boarding school located
in Olympic Valley, California. This Olympic Valley California high school sees the formation of young

structure of small classes, two-hour evening study halls, and weekend activities. As
the oldest private school at Lake Tahoe, the individual needs of each student remain

L O C A T I O N
This high school is located in Olympic Valley, California, two miles from Squaw Valley USA, and the
six-peak, thirty-ski-lift site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. The Sierra Nevada provides the ideal
location to support the school’s commitment to real accomplishment and personal achievement
through outdoor education. Tahoe City and the historic town of Truckee, California are located
within ten miles of Squaw Valley Academy. Sacramento is 100 miles to the west; Reno is 45 miles
to the east; and San Francisco is about 200 miles west. At an elevation of 6,200 feet, this high school's
campus experiences the full range of seasonal climates with 300 days of sunshine each year. The
average temperatures range from a low of 20 degrees in the winter to a high of 85 degrees in the
summer.

This Olympic Valley California high school asks students to wear approved SVA polo shirts, sweatshirts, and fleeces; dark blue or khaki tan pants or knee-length skirts; and a belt are required during the
school day and no white tennis shoes. During the Fall semester, Wednesdays and
Fridays are “dress-up” days when students wear blue Oxford shirt with the school tie
and optional jacket. No hats or headgear can be worn in the school buildings.
H O U S I N G
Students attending this high school will be staying in the schools dormitory buildings located on campus. A local contact person will be assigned to supervise the student during their stay in the United States.
