The High School is a co-educational, Catholic, day school located in Sterling, Illinois. The school was founded in 1915 and moved to its present location in 1960. Students are afforded the opportunity to become their very best through academics, athletics and extracurricular activities. The school is a part of the Rockford Diocese and is accredited by the state of Illinois and the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The school enrolls approximately 275 students each year with 10 students being from countries outside of the United States.

The High School is located in Sterling, Illinois, approximately 100 miles from Chicago, Illinois. Being a suburb of Chicago, Sterling boasts a population of over 15,000 inhabitants. Sterling is also 55 miles East of Quad Cities and approximately 35 miles East of the Mississippi river. Sterling, Illinois is in a very central location, being within driving distance of four major US cities and the Mississippi river. This location offers students vast opportunities to explore US culture and take part in many different types of activities.

D R E S S C O D E
The High School does have a strict dress code for all students. Students are not required to wear official uniforms, but boys and girls are required to wear a polo or dress shirt with the Newman emblem. Boys must wear navy blue or Khaki pants and girls must wear a plaid uniform skirt, navy pants or khaki pants.
H O U S I N G
Students attending the High School will be placed with carefully selected host families in and around the Sterling, Illinois area. A local contact person will be appointed to oversee the student and the host family for the duration of the student?s stay in the United States.
